Why Layer 8?
It comes from the OSI Model of networking. The OSI Model has 7 layers from the physical at layer 1, to the application at layer 7. We feel that when you go beyond this, the next layer of interaction is with the human. Since social engineering and OSINT is about the human, this would be Layer 8!
