Call for Presenters (CFP)

Our CFP will open on Thursday January 2nd, 2020. The link to submit your proposal will be on this page and on our twitter account (@Layer8Conf).

There will be two rounds to the CFP. The first will close on Friday, January 17th. We have a committee of five professionals (see our About Us page for who they are) who will review the proposals. The proposals not accepted can receive feedback and re-submit for the second round.

The second round will open on Saturday, February 1st and go through Friday, February 14th. Final notifications will be sent out in the few weeks after.

Submissions can be for 50 minute or 25 minute presentations.

Our committee uses a standard rubric to assess and internally score all submissions. This data will not be made available to anyone outside the committee. The committee also holds multiple discussions together to talk about each of the submissions and why they are or are not a fit for the conference. We do not do “blind” assessments as we do discuss our own biases and the members of the committee work to keep each other accountable for these. All information submitted is known to all members of the committee.

The main goal of the committee is to create the best possible lineup of presentations from the group that was submitted and to put on the best possible conference. Layer 8 Conference does not sell speaking slots or bundle them with sponsorship agreements.
